Should I just run it without an amplifier? I saw a post where some guy just said run some 14awg wire into the a-pillar and it was best reception he ever had, he got tired of playing around with the powered amplifiers. And used ones might be dead just like mine was.ĭoes the RNS-E provide +12V into the antenna wire? I don't think my aftermarket amplifier will like that. Do you guys have any recommendations for what I should do, with my RNS-E installation, when my old antenna amplifier that lives on the roof is dead (PCB bypassed, link: ) and I've replaced it with an aftermarket amplifier? Am I correct in thinking that only the roof unit (8L0035501E) has the amplifier in it, or is there some other amplifier in the car? I'd rather not buy a new unit for $300 if it will fail again anyway, because of harsh conditions outside the car.
